HE SAID IT…

RICKY STENHOUSE ON THE TEAM’S TOP-10 FINISH AT ANDERSON SPEEDWAY:

“Even though we didn’t move forward as much as we’d like to have in the feature, it ended up being a pretty good points night for us. We moved back into third in the championship chase and that’s going to help us as we head toward Eldora Speedway on Saturday. The feature was really the first time I’d had the chance to run in traffic at Anderson in the midget, up until now I’d only tested in this type of car at the track. We learned a lot from practice and the guys did a great job in getting the car ready for qualifying. I was good in the semi-feature and I got a lot of seat time during the event and ended up with a top-10 finish. We’re ready to go to Eldora this weekend and I know that we’re going give Chevrolet and Bass Pro Shops a great shot at the winner’s circle again on Saturday.”

HE SAID IT…

PAUL MCMAHAN ON THE NO. 20 TEAM’S THREE-RACE RUN IN THE MIDWEST LAST WEEK:

“We had a really good momentum building week, taking a top-10 and two top-fives into Eldora is a great confidence booster. At Clay County, we were pretty good from the start. We won the heat and started seventh in the A-main. The new track configuration was pretty racy and I was able to pick up a few spots in the A-main to finish in fifth. At Heartland Park on Friday night it was really tough to pass. The track took rubber and you really had to pick and choose your opportunities to pass during the A-main. You had to be in right spots on the track at the right time to move forward. Wrapping the weekend up with a fifth at Charter was a really good way to end the run. We qualified really well, second, and ran well in the heat. The car was good in the A-main and we moved forward well. When it came down the checkered flag, I could have probably taken fourth but it was a situation where I could have squeezed through and maybe ended up fourth or I could have ended up crashed. I chose to preserve the car and we came out with another top-five for Bass Pro Shops and Chevy. We’re going to head back to the shop and get ready for Eldora on Saturday.”
